You Love Him? You Love Him Not?

Are you guilty of playing this “He-loves-me-nots” game? These two commonest questions were, I bet, possibly tried to be asked even by you, while pulling petals when a childish prompt of thought urges to prove by any chance if someone, somehow loves you. But this time, it’s your heart which has to be tested. Do you, without any doubt, truly love Him or love Him not?

If you’ve thought in your heart that you truly love God, try considering the following truths which will make you think twice if you really do:

You cannot say you love God and have no time for Him, for the things that involve Him.

You cannot say you love God while chasing your dreams and leaving Him.

You cannot say you love God and ignore His pleading for you to spend time with Him, talking to and listening to Him.

You cannot say you love God and sing for His enemy, listening to the songs that are actually blaspheming His name.

You cannot say you love God and wear the uniform of those who hate Him – patronizing immodesty and losing their identity.

You cannot say you love God and pursue your significant others – fame, power, riches – at the expense of your relationship with Him.

You cannot say you love God and choose to listen and value the opinion of people more than His, trying to please them even if it means grieving Him.

You cannot say you love God and skip His Special Day for some reasons that you think He ought to understand.

You cannot say you love God and withhold that which belongs to Him or have not the eagerness to offer Him your best.

You cannot say you love God and have no desire nor willingness to serve Him the way He deserves to.

You cannot say you love God and enjoy doing the things which you know will break His heart.

You cannot say you love God and hate those whom He loved.

You cannot say you love God and have not compassion nor the willingness to reach for the lost souls.

You cannot say you love God and refuse to forgive when He tells you to.

You cannot say you love God and be bonded with those who do not believe in Him.

You cannot say you love God and value yourself above others serving your own needs first.

You cannot say you love God and desire temporal things than striving for eternal concerns.

You cannot say you love God and invest in this world the things which He asks you to sacrifice.

You cannot say you love God and remain unburdened for the heaviness of your own brethren.

You cannot say you love God and not obey Him even in the slightest details of His command.

You cannot say you love God and choose to be silent with the things you must speak for the fear of rejection or for the security of your reputation.

You cannot say you love God and not surrender your life as an offering to show gratitude for His love for you.

You cannot say you love God and be content on knowing Him a little nor having an intense desire to pursue a closer relationship with Him.

You cannot say you love God and treat Him as an option when you have to choose between which comes first.

You cannot say you love God and behave in the opposite of His character.

You cannot say you love God and fail to trust Him in every situation of your life.

You cannot say you love God and love this world at the same time.

If your love for God will be pulled like petals in every single aspect of the things written above, will the last petal tell Him you love Him?

I wanted to be a voice for Christian women who lack the courage and the freedom to speak for Jesus! For if there would be any reason for thoughts and words to be published, it is nothing else than to give glory to my God, the Author and the Giver of it.
