Just in case thoughts of discouragement knock on your door today,
and tell you lies like,
“You are unappreciated.”
“No one noticed what you did.”
“You’ve just wasted your efforts.”
“You are a failure.”

Let this truth remind you:

Anything done in love for the Lord
is never done in vain
regardless of the results.

When praise or even a “thank you” wasn’t said for all that you did, please be reminded that your endeavors are never wasted. The value of your efforts never depends on people’s responses but on the love you’ve poured into them.

When all your labors seem to go unnoticed, please be reminded of who your audience ought to be — that it was never the eyes of those around you, but the One who is above you. People might not see, nor appreciate what you are doing, but nothing escapes the eyes of God. He sees your efforts and He never forgets.

When all your toils seem to be fruitless, please be reminded that your fruitfulness is never determined by the quantity of your harvest, but by the quality of the seeds you’ve sown. We’ve succumbed to the idea that gain is always about having, we forget that in the Lord, losing is a gain.

When all your expectations of how it will all come out seem to be but a failure, please be reminded that sometimes, success, in the eyes of people, is not the kind of success that God defines. Sometimes it is our wrong definition of success that condemns us. Success is not about gaining the result you want; it is about having done what God wants and wills for you.

When you have done all and yet end up like you’re not enough,
when you have given all and yet end up nowhere but in losing,
when you have tried all and yet end up never winning,
please remember,
when you do it with love for the Lord,
it will always count, and none of it will be in vain.
Because in God, anything done in love for Him is done best.

Let love be your motive, let God be your Reward.

So please never get tired of aiming and doing things for Him. Others’ opinions might discourage you. Your own expectations might disappoint you. But if you make God your only audience to please, you will always find Him enough,
and there,
you will become unstoppable,

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 15:58
