To You Who Are Afraid To Die

I know this is something you don’t want to talk about. But I will still write about it anyway. I love your precious soul too much to only talk about the things you wanted to hear. And I’d rather lose you as a friend here on earth than lose your soul forever.

This letter may take longer than usual. But let it be the longest letter you’ll ever read for the sake of the salvation of your own soul. And let me just assure you, if this letter reached you, God leads you to it because He knows, you need it this urgently.

So let’s face it.

We’re all, at one point, afraid of dying.

We’re all afraid to vanish like a vapor too soon when we haven’t much enjoyed our existence long enough.

We’re all afraid to be forgotten like names written so beautifully on the seashore only to be erased by the playing waves.

And we’re all afraid to face the reality of our souls’ unspoken fear: the fear of “what happens next when I die.”

Because in this life so full of uncertainty, one thing is certain: death. And that it will come at any unexpected moment of our lives: At a time when you’re just about to achieve your dreams. At a time when you are just happily living your days. At a time when you’re just sleeping. At a time when you’ve just woken up. And mostly, at a time when you’re not ready for it.

Yet even after realizing that truth, we’ll just shrug off our shoulders and continue living our short lives without doing our best to have it answered, not knowing the time when we have to face that question is drawing nearer and nearer every day.

So again, allow me to ask you these important questions you and I ought to answer:

What if, this day was your last day on earth?

What will be the first and most important thing you’ll secure before you die?

Your last will and testament?

Your bank account?

Your happiness?

Your legacy?

Your insurance?

But what about the assurance of your soul’s destiny?

What about securing that your soul will really live forever with God in heaven and will not suffer in hell forever?

Are you a hundred percent sure that you will be in heaven when you die?

Please be honest.

Some say, “You can’t know that. No one knows the answer. You’ll just find out when you die.”

Let me tell you, that’s the biggest lie spread by the devil to deceive many and blind them of the truth that you can be sure of heaven, “now.”

Yes, NOW!

No other chance is ever given to us to secure the salvation of our souls from hell than now that we are still alive. Because when we die, that chance is over.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

Hebrews 9:27

And if you’re asking how, the answer is not mine to give but the Bible’s. Because it is God’s Word and therefore can be trusted that anything written on it is true and faithful. God did not create us to just leave us clueless of what to do to be sure about heaven. Hence, the Bible.

That is the very reason of this letter. Because I am blessed enough to find the answer from it. Like a suffering and hopeless soul who has finally found the antidote that will cure its sickness, I cannot afford to hide this good news from my fellow sick and dying souls of whom I am sure are in dire need of it.

So with that, may you be interested in knowing what the Bible says about what is God’s plan to save our souls from hell and His wonderful plan to make us live with Him in heaven someday.

Please bear with me to help you understand it the way God has been so patient with me to make me comprehend.

First, God wants you to realize that there is a problem our souls are facing:

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

Romans 3:23

Sin is the problem and that includes you. We are all sinners in the sight of God no matter how religious or good we think we are. In one way or another, big or small, we have committed sins. Only a liar would deny. But! Heaven is a holy place where sin cannot exist. There begins our problem: because of our sins, you and I cannot enter heaven.

Secondly, God wants you to realize that our sins have consequences and hell is one of those.

” For the wages of sin is death…”

Romans 6:23a

Sin brought us death, and death means separation: first, the separation of our body and its soul; secondly, the separation of our soul from God. Because of our sin, death enters and death doesn’t only mean a physical decay of our body but eternal suffering of our souls in hell.

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Revelations 21:8

Yes, hell is real and we cannot afford to ignore its reality because our souls are at stake. And just as how fearful we are to spend our eternity in hell, God is much eager to save us from it and to take us to His home in heaven instead.

So thirdly, God Himself made a way to save us. Here’s the good news I was ever dying to tell you:

“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ”

Romans 6:23b

Hell is the punishment we deserve but heaven is a gift we are never worthy to receive. And that is what we call grace.

Yes, heaven is a gift.

And when God says heaven is a gift, that means you don’t have to work for it. You don’t have to do good deeds, but neither was it encouraging you to do bad deeds, to deserve it. Because it is now not about what you do for God but what Christ did for you on the cross:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9

Let it be clearly emphasized that one can enter heaven not because of his good works.

Heaven is a gift and that means you don’t have to pay for it. You don’t have to punish yourself to have it. Because someone already did it for you.

Who?

Read the last part and you’ll see it’s “through Jesus Christ” alone.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8

Heaven is a gift and that means it is free!

I have received it by faith and it could also be yours.

Of course, you’ll ask me how and I will boldly tell you, it is not by joining a religion, nor by staying faithful to that religion. Let this verse speak clearly to your soul:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ”

John 14:6

Jesus died on the cross for you and me and that is why He is called the “Savior.” And what does a Savior do? Not just the act of heroism to be willing to die for the sake of others, but also the role of “saving” them from sure danger and death. Jesus did both.

And now Jesus is standing at the door of your heart knocking. He is holding this gift of eternal life in heaven to give it to you. But the question is, will you let Him in?

Heaven is a gift and that means it is a decision to make.

God did His part to send His only Son Jesus.

Jesus did his part to die for you on the cross.

Now it’s your turn.

Will you do your part?

He is not asking you to do impossible sacrifices to punish yourself. Jesus said it is finished.

All He’s asking from you is your faith: that you’d believe in Him that He is the Savior and what He did on the cross is enough to save you. All He’s asking is for you to put your trust in Him and not in your goodness or religion. All He’s asking from you is that you’d stop making it hard for yourself to have the promise of heaven. All He’s asking is for you to repent of your sins and receive Him as your Savior. And if it wouldn’t be too much for you, to make Him the Lord of your life.

Again you’re asking how, I know.

And again the answer can only be found on God’s Word:

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. ” –

Romans 10:9

And there you’ll realize, the way to be sure of heaven is simple if you’ll only “believe.”

Faith in Jesus is the key to heaven. And faith is a decision.

We make our own way to enter heaven but God’s way is only one: put your faith in Jesus to be your Savior and if you are really willing to do that, confess it with your mouth and heart.

You do not have to shout. God can hear. You just have to pray and make that decision right now.

Will you?

Now is the time. Tomorrow is not a promise.

Take a moment to pause to ponder how this message spoke to your heart. And as you do, I hope it will lead you to a bold decision to accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord by confessing it through prayer.

You might honestly say, “But I don’t know what to say.”

I understand. And I am so much willing to help. So take this prayer by heart as if you are talking to God because you are:

“Dearest Father,

Thank You for loving me when I am so unworthy. I admit that I am a sinner and I am asking for Your forgiveness for all of my sins.

Thank you for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die for my sins and save me from the punishment of hell. I now accept Him as my Savior and invite Him to be the Lord of my life.

And thank you for the gift of eternal life in heaven that you have promised as I put my faith in Him. This is all I ask and pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

If you have prayed this prayer with all your heart, only you and God knows, His promise to those who call unto Him is salvation from the punishment of hell and the gift of eternal life in heaven.

God promised this on His Word and never in history had He break a single one.

If before reading this letter, you are afraid of death, may the Word and promises of God erase all those fears and replace them with faith as you fix it on the unchanging truth that Jesus is the Savior, the only way to heaven, the only truth to believe on to, and the only One who can secure you of the gift of eternal life.

Death, without Jesus is man’s greatest horror. But death, having Him in one’s heart, is the soul’s greatest joy.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”

John 1:12

I wanted to be a voice for Christian women who lack the courage and the freedom to speak for Jesus! For if there would be any reason for thoughts and words to be published, it is nothing else than to give glory to my God, the Author and the Giver of it.
